Our History
In 2013, under the supervision of Father Eduardo Montemayor, the Federation of Associations of Our Lady of Guadalupe of the Archdiocese of Detroit (FANSG) was founded, been Mrs. Luz Magareno the first president. In the same year, the Federation was accepted as an official member of the Universal Confraternity of Our Lady of Guadalupe, based at the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City.
There were nine associated parishes in the year of its foundation. Today, FANSG has twelve associated parishes (five of the original ones), and our former president remains one of the current individual members and one of the most active members of FANSG.
Our Mission
The objectives of the Federation of Associations of Our Lady of Guadalupe (FANSG) are to identify and unify the different Guadalupe parish organizations, inviting them to join FANSG; to promote devotion and consecration to Our Lady of Guadalupe through the Universal Confraternity of Our Lady of Guadalupe; to encourage leadership and spiritual formation of its members in the mission of the Church; to promote apostolate; to develop spiritual projects and their respective materials; to support the pastoral priorities of the Archbishop; and to increase integration with the Archdiocese of Detroit.
