Because sometimes you don’t have to look far to find people of faith—people with formation, testimony, experience, and true dedication. This year, the Federation is honored and proud to present a group of speakers who represent the very best of our community: a priest, a consecrated woman, and two laypeople, all of them local. All of them serving right here in our own backyard.

Norma Cristina Soriano
Norma has been actively involved in Hispanic pastoral and evangelizing ministry in Michigan since the late 1990s. She co-founded the group “Seguidoras de Cristo” at Holy Family Parish (1999–2003), served as a catechist at St. Vincent Parish in Pontiac (1999–2000), and was involved in the Cursillo de Cristiandad movement (1998–2004).
She coordinated youth groups at St. Gabriel Parish (2006–2009) and St. Alfred in Taylor, and taught parent catechesis at St. Mary’s Parish in Ann Arbor for two years. Since 2009, she has helped organize the Women’s Conference and is a co-founder of the Escuela de la Fe in Michigan (2003–present). She currently teaches Bible courses in Spanish at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Her formation includes youth ministry training at Loyola University Chicago and theological-pastoral formation from Escuela de la Fe.

I met Norma—or “Normita” as I call her, though she truly is the “Professor Norma”—around 2019 at a friend’s house in Lake Orion. But we truly connected in 2021 when we worked together preparing the reacting of the apparitions of Our Lady of Guadalupe for the December 12 celebration at St. Joseph. Today, I’m honored to call her my friend. Every time I talk to her, I learn more about faith and formation. It is truly an honor to have her as one of this year’s presenters.

Fr. Alex Kratz OFM
Fr. Alex, OFM, is a Franciscan friar residing at St. Joseph Chapel and the Shrine of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Pontiac. He holds a B.A. in Theology from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Sacred Scripture and Biblical Spirituality from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, and an Advanced Certificate in Franciscan Studies from St. Bonaventure University.
He spent a year living in the Holy Land and co-founded Terra Sancta Ministries to support the Mother Church of Jerusalem. Fr. Alex currently assists at St. Colette Parish in Livonia. He enjoys reading about history and spirituality, as well as watching World Cup soccer and Notre Dame football.

I only met Fr. Alex a few months ago—in April, to be exact—when we were looking for a location for our monthly meeting that also offered the opportunity to pray the rosary in person. Since it was the 12th of the month, we wanted to visit a local jubilee church. The closest shrine happened to be Fr. Alex’s. From the first email to his warm replies and our in-person visit, we felt the love of Our Blessed Mother through him. The group felt it too. It’s a blessing to have Fr. Alex in our community and to have him opening the English portion of this year’s conference. – Conchis Kargetta.
Daniel Magareno
Daniel is Luz Magareno’s son, Luz is one of the founders and first president of the Federation of Associations of Our Lady of Guadalupe. From a very young age, Daniel has actively lived and shared his faith and devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, serving as an altar server, catechist, and later as youth group leader at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Daniel currently serves as the Federation’s official liturgical aid, he especially helps preparing the annual December 9th Mass at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. He finds great joy in serving at Mass and in deepening his knowledge of Sacred Scripture.

I met Daniel in 2021 when the Hispanic/Guadalupano group from St. Joseph in Lake Orion joined the FANSG. He’s a wonderful son, always supporting his mother and helping with liturgical preparations whenever the Federation needs it. It’s a true source of pride to have a person that is local, young and Hispanic descent as one of our presenters for the 2025 Guadalupana Conference.– Conchis Kargetta.
Jennifer Ristine
Jennifer has been consecrated in the Society of Apostolic Life, Regnum Christi, since 1997. During that time she has been engaged in faith and spiritual formation primarily through teaching, writing, conferences, retreats and spiritual direction. She lived and worked in Ancient Magdala, in the Holy Land, which inspired various works on Saint Mary Magdalene: Mary Magdalene: Insights from Ancient Magdala; Nine Days with Mary Magdalene, and Becoming Magdalene. Presently, she is an on-line instructor for the Spiritual Director Certificate course at Divine Mercy University in Virginia. She has Masters in Theology, Ignatius Spirituality and the Mystics.

Jennifer is a consecrated woman of Regnum Christi, currently serving in the local community based in Lake Orion. Though I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I know most of the consecrated women from her house, and they are all deeply kind, faith-filled, and dedicated to service. Having one of them participate in our conference is a true gift from above.

Este año, la Federación se honra y se llena de orgullo al contar con un equipo de presentadores que representa lo mejor de nuestra comunidad: un sacerdote, una consagrada y dos laicos, todos locales. Todos al servicio de esta nuestra gente.

Norma Cristina Soriano
Norma ha participado activamente en la vida pastoral y evangelizadora de la comunidad hispana en Michigan desde finales de los años noventa. Fue cofundadora del grupo “Seguidoras de Cristo” en la parroquia Holy Family (1999–2003), catequista en la parroquia San Vicente de Pontiac (1999–2000) y colaboradora del movimiento Cursillo de Cristiandad (1998–2004).
Coordinó grupos juveniles en las parroquias San Gabriel (2006–2009) y St. Alfred en Taylor, y fue catequista de padres en St. Mary’s en Ann Arbor durante dos años. Desde 2009 ha sido parte del comité organizador de la Conferencia de Mujeres y es cofundadora de la Escuela de la Fe en Michigan (2003 hasta hoy). Actualmente imparte cursos de Biblia en español en el Seminario Mayor del Sagrado Corazón en Detroit. Su formación incluye estudios de pastoral juvenil en la Universidad de Loyola en Chicago y formación teológica y pastoral en la Escuela de la Fe.

A Norma, o Normita como yo le digo, aunque en realidad es la “Maestra Norma”, la conocí allá por el 2019 en casa de una amiga en Lake Orion, pero no fue hasta el 2021, cuando colaboramos montando las representaciones de las apariciones de la Virgen de Guadalupe, para presentarlas durante la celebración del 12 de diciembre en St Joseph de Lake Orión, hoy tengo el privilegio de considerarla mi amiga, y cada que platico con ella aprendo mucho sobre fe y formación. Es un verdadero honor el que vaya a ser una de las presentadoras de este año. – Conchis Kargetta.
Fr. Alex Kratz OFM
El Padre Alex, OFM, es un fraile franciscano que reside en la Capilla de San José y el Santuario del Inmaculado Corazón de María en Pontiac. Tiene una licenciatura en Teología por la Universidad de Notre Dame, una Maestría en Divinidad con concentración en Sagrada Escritura y Espiritualidad Bíblica por el Catholic Theological Union en Chicago, y un Certificado Avanzado en Estudios Franciscanos por la Universidad de San Buenaventura.
Vivió un año en Tierra Santa y es cofundador de Terra Sancta Ministries, que apoya a la Iglesia Madre de Jerusalén. Actualmente colabora en la parroquia St. Colette en Livonia. Le gusta leer sobre historia y espiritualidad, así como ver el Mundial de fútbol y los juegos de Notre Dame.

Conocí al Padre Alex hace unos meses, en abril para ser exactos, como nuestra reunión mensual seria en Pontiac y además caía en día 12 del mes, queríamos aprovechar para rezar el rosario en persona, y además hacerlo en una iglesia sede del jubileo, el santuario más cercano resulto ser el del Padre Alex, desde el momento que contesto a mi primer correo, luego a mensajes de texto sentí la calidez y el amor de mama María por medio de él, luego el día de la visita el grupo completo lo sintió también. Es una verdadera bendición tener al Padre Alex en nuestra comunidad y que además se vaya a tomar el tiempo para arrancar la presentación en ingles de nuestra conferencia de este daño – Conchis Kargetta.
Daniel Magareno
Daniel es hijo de Luz Magareno, una de las fundadoras y primera presidenta de la Federación de Asociaciones de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Desde muy joven ha vivido y compartido con entusiasmo su fe y devoción a Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, sirviendo como acólito y catequista, y más adelante como líder juvenil en el grupo de jóvenes de la parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Daniel es egresado del Seminario Mayor del Sagrado Corazón, donde obtuvo la licenciatura en Filosofía. Entre otras cosas actualmente colabora activamente con la Federación como auxiliar oficial en la organización de celebraciones litúrgicas, especialmente en la Misa anual del 9 de diciembre en la Catedral de Detroit. Disfruta profundamente servir en la Santa Misa y continuar aprendiendo sobre las Sagradas Escrituras.

Conocí a Daniel en el 2021 cuando el grupo hispano/guadalupano de St. Joseph de Lake Orion se unió a la FANSG. Es un muy buen hijo, siempre apoyando a su mamá y ayudando con toda la preparación litúrgica cuando la Federación lo necesita. Es un verdadero orgullo que alguien joven, local y de descendencia hispana sea uno de los presentadores de la Conferencia Guadalupana 2025.– Conchis Kargetta.
Jennifer Ristine
Jennifer es una mujer consagrada en la Sociedad de Vida Apostólica Regnum Christi desde 1997. Durante este tiempo, se ha dedicado a la formación en la fe y la vida espiritual, principalmente a través de la enseñanza, la escritura, conferencias, retiros y la dirección espiritual.
Vivió y trabajó en la antigua Magdala, en Tierra Santa, experiencia que la inspiró a escribir varias obras sobre Santa María Magdalena: María Magdalena: Perspectivas desde la antigua Magdala, Nueve días con María Magdalena y Convirtiéndose en Magdalena. Actualmente, es instructora en línea del curso de Certificación en Dirección Espiritual en la Universidad de la Divina Misericordia (Divine Mercy University) en Virginia. Tiene una maestría en Teología, Espiritualidad Ignaciana y los Místicos.

Jennifer Ristine es una mujer consagrada del Regnum Christi que actualmente sirve en la comunidad local con sede en Lake Orion. Aunque no he tenido el gusto de conocerla personalmente, sí conozco a la mayoría de las consagradas de su casa, y todas son mujeres muy amables, llenas de fe y dedicadas al servicio. Tener a una de ellas como parte de nuestra conferencia es un verdadero regalo del cielo. – Conchis Kargetta.
